The Greetery—Floral Delicacy Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday, Crafters!

Today I’m sharing this fun, colorful birthday card I made for my grandma. I love how this card turned out, and I think she will too! I love the art deco feel to it, and don’t get me started on the florals! 😍 This floral stamp set is stunning! So soft and beautiful, I can’t wait to use it again. I’ve actually had these products for a couple of months and had finally got around to using them. The Floral Delicacy stamp set and the Everyday Labels stamp set are part of a collection from The Greetery called Nouveau Notes, so they complement each other nicely.

This card does feature a mix of products from different companies, starting with the cover panel die. The cover panel is from Reverse Confetti and it’s their Deco cover panel die, and I absolutely adore it! I’ve realized lately that I’m a pretty big fan of art deco style, and when I saw this cover plate I knew I had to have it. I love that even though this is from another company, it looks great with the products from The Greetery. I used the Deco cover panel and die cut a piece of Ivory Cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. I really like the warmth and softness this brings to the card.

I stamped the largest floral pieces in the following color combos, left to right:

  • lower floral: SSS Velvet Orchid, Concord & 9th Ballet Slipper and Grapefruit (for the shadows/exterior petals), and Buttercup for the little bud section. Parsley and Evergreen for the greenery

  • upper floral: Grapefruit ink, Sorbet for the inner portion of the two large florals with Honeysuckle for the shadows, and Buttercup for the buds. Parsley and Evergreen for the greenery

There are also smaller supporting florals included in the Floral Delicacy stamp set as well as in the Everyday Labels stamp set, so I stamped the greenery in Parsley and the small florals in Sorbet, SSS Velvet Orchid, Grapefruit and Sea Glass. The 2 extra larger supporting florals were stamped in Sea Glass and Oceanside with Evergreen for the stem, and Grapefruit and Sorbet with a Parsley stem. Once I had my florals stamped and die cut, I worked on the greeting since that would be what the florals would be grouped around.

I gold heat embossed the happy birthday greeting on C9 white cardstock (I wanted this greeting to be strong once it was die cut, so I used thicker cardstock, but plain white cardstock with an extra die cut layer or two would work just as well), and cut it out using the coordinating die. From here, I started to play around with the placement of the florals. I knew I wanted to have one of the large floral pieces on each side of my greeting to frame it, so from there I just started to squeeze in the extra floral die cuts I had. With a little bit of fussing, and help from some Press’n’seal, all the floral elements were glued down.

I popped my greeting up on some Simon Says Stamp foam squares and placed it in the middle of the florals. Lastly, I decided to finish this card off with some sparkle by using Rock Candy sequins from Trinity Stamps. I love the soft shine and dreamy feel that these add to the card, I think it really rounded the card out well! I’m sure my grandma will love this card. She likes the take the cards I send her into her painting class and show them off to the other members of it haha 😊. It makes me feel like I’ve got a fan club, or like a kid with art on the fridge! I’m just glad that my cards make her day, that’s all I want when I’m sending any out!

What do you think of this card?! Have you tried out any products from The Greetery?! Let me know what I should try next down below! Thanks for stopping by, and as always, I hope to catch you next time 😊.
