Simon Says Stamp—Some Bunny Loves You Easter Card
Happy Tuesday, Crafters!
Today I’ve got a quick and easy, super cute Easter card to share with you! I actually got these products last year when I picked up an Easter card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I hadn’t gotten around to using the ‘some bunny loves you’ sentiment and I’m happy to have used it this year!
I’ve been interested in mini slimlines lately, and I thought this card would be adorable as one. It adds to the playful vibe, and allows me to still use the Layering Eggs slimline stencil from Simon Says Stamp.
Honestly, I’m not quite sure what the actual size of a mini slimline is (I’ve seen different dimensions when I google it), but I have a set of card bases from Photo Play that are 3.5 x 6.25-inches***. I wanted this card to have a colorful mat around it, so I cut down a piece of Concord & 9th white cardstock to 3.25 x 6-inches. I lined up the base layer of the Layering Eggs stencil so I could fit as many eggs on the card front as possible. For the color palette, I really wanted those traditional pastel colors, so I went with Distress Oxides for this card. I pulled out Salvaged Patina, Squeezed Lemonade, Saltwater Taffy, Spun Sugar, Milled Lavendar, Twisted Citron, and Dried Marigold, and blended them on randomly. While this layer dried, I moved onto the sentiment.
I pulled out the Some Bunny Loves You stamp and coordinating die from my stash and white heat embossed it on Concord & 9th Pebble cardstock (this is being released on 4/10!). I love how soft and perfectly bunny-like this cardstock is, especially when layered on top of the card.
With the oxide layer dry, I lined up the egg details stencil and pulled out my Irridescent Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K & Thermoweb. I love this glitter gel, and it’s been a bit since I’ve pulled it out, so I thought it would be perfect on this card! After slathering on a thin layer, I set my card front aside to dry in a place where I wouldn’t accidentally mess up the glitter gel.
I cut a piece of Sprout cardstock from Concord & 9th down to the same dimensions as my card base (3.5 x 6.25-inches), glued it down, then glued down the stenciled panel. I popped the bunny shaped sentiment up on SSS thin foam squares, centered it on the card front, and stuck it down.
And that wraps up this post! I hope you like this sweet card! I can’t wait to get it in the mail, I just hope all my cards (that I’m sending out today) will make it on time! Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope to catch you next time with more Easter inspiration! 😊🐰
***at the time of mailing, I found my card did NOT fit in a standard mini slimline envelope.
