Concord & 9th—Boughs & Holly, Let’s Be Jolly
Hi, friends!
Today I’m sharing another quick and easy Christmas card featuring the other half of the Boughs & Holly Stencil Pack from Concord & 9th’s September 2022 release. I love this stencil pack, and the stencils I used today might be my favorite. I love the organic feel to the greenery as it twists and turns and leaves space for your greeting, it’s a really well-designed product.
So this card made me realize that I am a rose gold kinda girl. Concord & 9th also released a decadent rose gold foil paper last month, and oh my gosh, is it beautiful. It’s fairly cool toned, but it’s such a soft, blushy pink, and more than ever do I wish they would release a glitter cardstock in this color.
I started this card off by blending Parsley ink on the first stencil, rotating it, and then blending on Evergreen ink. I love these two greens, and they are perfect for holiday cards! For the branch stencil I used Evergreen ink again but applied it with a bit of a heavier hand. For the berries, I first blended on Grapefruit ink, rotated the stencil, then blended on Cranberry ink. This card comes together so quick, and it really makes it look like you spent forever working on it.
Here comes the rose gold. Once I had everything stenciled, I was thinking about what color to cut my ‘let’s be jolly’ greeting out of. I saw a lot of people online using gold or black cardstock, so I wanted to do something different (but don’t get me wrong, those colors are beautiful for the sentiment 😍). I love the way the rose gold plays with the Grapefruit and Cranberry berries, it’s nice and soft, and for the most part, is in the same color family. Once the greeting was die cut, I glued it down and also made sure to glue the centers to the ‘b’ and the ‘o’. You could leave the centers off, but I really like the look with them.
At this point, I really could have left the card alone and called it done, but for some reason the white edge around it was driving me a little crazy. I decided to do what I was thinking of doing on the wreath card I made and add a scalloped frame. I die cut the largest of the Stitched Scalloped Rectangles dies from Pinkfresh Studio out of the same rose gold cardstock. Once I got the frame glued down, I decided I wanted to add some die cut greenery to fill up the card a bit.
I die cut the holly leaves out of Evergreen and Parsley cardstocks, and well as the fern-like symmetrical leaves. I also decided to cut berries out of Grapefruit, Cranberry and rose gold cardstock to add around the card. I really liked adding the rose gold berries to tie together the frame and the sentiment and to add a small pop of the color (though this is where I wish there was rose gold glitter paper!!). I fiddled around with the arrangement of the greenery and berries until I liked it, and glued it down.
Now that this card is completed, I’m not so sure I’ll be sending it out. I think it would be a beautiful, framed piece of holiday decor…but we’ll see once I get closer to sending out Christmas cards. So, what do you think of this card?! I looove it, and I’m so happy with how it came together!
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog, and I hope to catch you next time! 😊
