Concord & 9th—Quick and Easy Christmas Card

Happy Monday, Crafters! I hope your week is off to a great start!

Today I’m sharing a quick and easy Christmas card I made using the Nordic Noel dies and some patterned paper from Concord & 9th’s September release. This release is stunning! There are so many great Christmas products, so if you’re in the market for some, check this release out (and no, this is not sponsored haha, I just love C9).

When the product sneak peeks came out for the Nordic Noel die set, I immediately got an idea for a French Christmas card. My husband is French, so both sides of his family speak the language. When I sent his grandma a birthday card, she absolutely loved it, so I really wanted to send her a Christmas card that has some French on it. Seeing the noel dies, all I could think of was to stamp out ‘joyeux’, which means happy, in alphabet stamps and put it on the card front to have the expression ‘joyeux noël’, which means happy Christmas. So I did just that with the Little Letters stamp set from C9 and die cut it using a sentiment banner from Lawn Fawn.

The new Be Merry patterned paper pack is what inspired the rest of this card. I love the Sea Glass piece that has winter greenery all over it, so I decided that would be my background. The colors in it, Sea Glass, Evergreen, Parsley and Poppy, were what helped me to decided what colors the noel should be. I ended up using the Folk Edge rectangle dies from Pinkfresh Studio to cut out my A2 sized panel of patterned paper since I thought they had a bit of a Nordic feel to them. I could have skipped this step since this detail isn’t super noticeable, but I have no regrets doing it!

I die cut the noel shadow out of Parsley cardstock, and the letters out of Evergreen. I decided to keep the detailed piece in more traditional colors, so I used Concord & 9th white glitter paper (this stuff is so so good!) for all the white accents and to add a subtle shine. The small dots on each letter were die cut out of Poppy cardstock for some contrast and to tie into the background.

I popped the ‘joyeux’ partially up on foam squares and centered it in the middle of the large die cut. At this point I was thinking about adding sequins, but I felt they looked a little off with the rest of the card. I ended up using extra fall out dots of the white glitter paper and Poppy cardstock and cutting extras with the small circle die included in the die set. I like how this adds a bit of subtle shine and fills in the background without being too obvious.

So what do you think of this card?! I really love how easy it is to whip up a card with this die set, it really takes the thought out of it. If this Christmas card felt too soon for you, don’t worry! I’ll still be sprinkling in some regular content here and there! Thanks for stopping by the blog, I hope to catch you next time! 😊
