Concord & 9th—Pumpkin Builder DIY Decor!
Hello again, and happy Thanksgiving week!
Today I’ve got a quick post for you chatting about the Pumpkin Builder die set that Concord & 9th released this past August! I was lucky enough to guest design with this fun die set, and this is the first time I’ve made something 3D/that can be used as decor, and I love it!
When I saw this die set, I immediately thought of using the pumpkins as mantle/table decor and as place cards for Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving.
To make a pumpkin, you need to cut 6 of the pumpkin body pieces, one of the long skinny pieces, a stem (the ruffled piece), a stem base (the hexagon shaped pieces), and as many leaves as you desire. One thing to be mindful of if you plan on using patterned paper is if you need to cut your pumpkin pieces in a specific way to keep the pattern in the ‘right’ orientation. As for paper, the largest pumpkin requires 1-1/2 sheets of paper, the medium is roughly 1 sheet, and the small pumpkin ends up being a 1/2-sheet of paper plus one cut on another.
I had a lot of fun playing with the Harvest Home patterned paper pack when making these pumpkins! The patterns are sooo cute on them. Since I had Thanksgiving on the brain, I decided that I would make decor for my table as well as place cards in four different colors— Cayenne, Spiced Cider, Clementine, and Nectar. You could make the place cards out of any size you desire, but I really liked the smallest pumpkin for these!
Since I went all hostess with the mostest when creating with this set (which is funny because I haven’t hosted anything since being a married adult haha), I set up a whole tablescape for fall, complete with a DIY floral centerpiece too! I honestly had so much fun putting this all together, and the pumpkins were the perfect touch!
When using the leaves to write your guest’s name, I would suggest not folding on the score lines! The pumpkin is still super cute with a flat leaf, and it makes it the perfect place to write names.
I mean, how cute is this gingham pumpkin?! If I wasn’t so scared to use up all my patterned papers, I would have made a horde of these guys. What’s great about them is you can store them for use every year as long as you’re careful about them not getting crushed when you store them, or you could recycle them and create more next year.
That’s all I’ve got for you today, but I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I will catch you again soon!
