Concord& 9th—Holiday ITC Gingerbread Houses!

Hello, hello!

Today I’ve got two cuties to share with you that I created with one of the kits from the In the Classroom: Holiday Edition event that Concord & 9th put on this past October! I’ve been so slow to play with the kits in the class, but honestly, I’ve been struggling a bit with my mojo, not to mention my husband and I are in the process of making a huge life change again! So things haven’t been super calm and I’ve been a bit unfocused and burnt out! But enough about me and my problems, today we’re talking about this kit!

If you aren’t familiar with the ITC events that Concord & 9th puts on, they’re smaller (than Summer Camp) events that take place over one day and usually consist of two classes and a live kick off. Concord & 9th always packs a bunch of goodies in these kits, so to me they’re always worth the money, not to mention they’re super fun!

A sweet little landscape

For this card, I basically followed the class instructions to a ‘T’. The only changes I made to the original design were that I used the Snowfall card front die on the Powder cardstock sky, and I stamped my little mint in Briar Rose ink. I used the enamel roofline shapes and the enamel light bulbs on the gingerbread house, and I love what they bring to this card! A nice bit of dimension, and a lot of shine! I glued down the Juniper trees, popped the Lemongrass ones up on thin foam squares, then popped the gingerbread house up on thick foam squares. This card is just so dang cute!

Cardstock colors used: Powder, Lemongrass, Juniper, Cayenne, Nectar, White

My twist on the kit…

The stamp set in the kit has the cutest ‘let’s be jolly’ sentiment in it, and I just had to use it! I based the whole card off that greeting since I knew for sure I was using it. I stamped the greeting in Powder ink on Powder cardstock for a fabulous tone-on-tone look. I die cut and assembled the house the same as the previous card, but with a couple different colors for the door and shutters. I added a little snowy hill to the bottom of the Powder cardstock and surrounded where I was planning to put the house with Juniper and Lemongrass trees. I popped the gingerbread house up on some thick foam squares and stuck it down. To finish this card off, I thought it needed some snowflakes, so I pulled out the snowflake die from the Winter Wonderland die set and die cut it out of white cardstock and scattered them around. I’m pretty happy with how this card turned out!

I hope you liked these cuties! If you’re on the hunt for this die set, you won’t find it at Concord & 9th, but if you live in the US, there is a Concord & 9th buy/sell/trade group on Facebook! You would probably have some luck getting it there. So thanks so much for stopping by the blog today, I hope to catch you again soon!!
