Concord & 9th Feature Friday: Mini Months Bundle, 2023 Calendar, and Petal Pushers Bundle

Hi, Crafters! Welcome back to another Feature Friday on my blog!

This week I’ve got more Concord & 9th goodness to share. This blog post will focus on the Mini Months bundle, the 2023 printed calendar, and the Petal Pushers bundle. I’ve never decorated a calendar before, and I had so much fun designing one this week! I definitely went a bit overboard/theme-y, but you could simply use the same Turnabout or stencil for every month and change up the colors (or not) and you would have a perfectly good calendar!

The Petal Pushers bundle might just be my favorite product of the month (but at the same time I don’t know because I love the Turnabouts 😍). I love a good floral anything, so these stencils and dies make my heart happy. And the stamp set has the perfect greetings to cover almost every occasion!

Petal Pushers Bundle

I absolutely love the stencils in this bundle, especially the full floral pattern one. I love that you get two, and that they’re multistep so you can have a bunch of different colors and florals—there’s so much visual interest! The other wonderful thing about these stencils are that the patterns are small enough to be die cut with a variety of dies, I even die cut a panel of the other stencil with a hot air balloon die from the Up, Up and Away die set, but wasn’t able to get a card made out of it this week. I love when you can use products in more than just one way!

Does it look like I’m obsessed with Eggplant cardstock yet? I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve really been enjoying using Eggplant ink and cardstock lately, and I love how this card turned out with it! I made this card with more of a sympathy card in mind, and to me, it feels like a paper hug. I started this card out by using the full floral stencil and blending on Buttercup ink to the flowers with the side perspective, and Poppy and Cranberry inks on the large, open flowers. I used Parsley ink for all the greenery, and added small purple flowers to give this card a meadow feel (that was my inspo, to me these were buttercups and poppies with scattered purple wildflowers). I finished off the dots and flower centers with Midnight ink. I used the stitched heart die from the Triple Step Heart die set and die cut the blended panel. I stacked it on two additional white heart die cuts, and glued it onto a panel of Eggplant cardstock that I used the Stitched Vines card front die on. To add a little bit more interest to the card front and to soften the Eggplant a little, I die cut the small floral die out of cardstock I had blended Eggplant ink on. I arranged these flowers similarly to how they are in the stenciled piece, and I love how it turned out! To finish this card off, I white heat embossed the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment from the Petal Pushers stamp set on black cardstock.

I think out of these two cards, this one is my favorite 😍. I love the floral stencil, and I really love having the die cut greeting with an extra flower on the bottom. I started this card off by lightly blending Peacock ink on to the side profile flowers. Then I ink blended on Stardust, Sorbet and Cranberry inks to the open flowers. I used Parsley ink for the greenery and added a touch of Evergreen ink to it. I used Eggplant ink for the small flowers, and added the remaining floral details in Midnight ink. Once I had this stenciled, I decided to leave it on the A2 sized piece of white cardstock, I had originally planned to cut it out with the cute coordinating die, but I love how this looked on a full panel.

For the sentiment, I die cut the ‘hello’ and ‘friend’ die included in the die set out of black cardstock and once out of white to add some dimension. Once I had the sentiment glued down, I decided to add a floral die cut that I had from last week to the card. I die cut the greenery pieces out of Parsley cardstock, and the flower was die cut out of Ballet Slipper, Buttercup and black. I love how sweet the flower looks next to the sentiment and how it ties into the stenciling.

Mini Months Bundle & 2023 Calendar

I full on raided my stash to make this calendar, and I love how it turned out! 😍 I did try to stick with a general theme for each month following the general associations of each month. The Mini Months bundle makes quick work of labelling your months, and the possibilities are endless for the color of them as well as the color of your stamping/embossing. If you want to see close ups of each month, there is a carousel of photos at the end of this post!

Aren’t these months so cute?! I’m not sure which is my favorite out of these six. I do love the glitz and glam of January, and the all green plaid for March is just a chef’s kiss. I’ll break each month down in case you want to recreate something similar:

January: I used the Confetti Dots Turnabout stencil on C9 black cardstock. I inked it up with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder. I repeated this two more times with Penny and Sterling embossing powders, also from Brutus Monroe. I die cut the panel with the Petal Pushers frame die. The 2023 was created with the Double-Cut Numbers dies and they were cut out of plain white cardstock and C9 gold glitter cardstock. I pulled the party blower (from the Make Some Noise die set) from my stash of completed die cuts, added small ‘yay’s from the Triangle Confetti die set which were also cut from the same gold cardstock. I finished the month off with a ‘JAN’ from the Mini Months bundle that I white heat embossed on Grapefruit cardstock.

February: I used the Scattered Dots Turnabout stamp for the background and stamped it in Grapefruit, Honeysuckle, Cranberry and Ballet Slipper. This was die cut with the Petal Pushers frame die and glued to the calendar. I used the heart die from the All The Love die set and cut cardstock that corresponded to the background as well as C9 white glitter paper in 1/4 inch strips, glued it on scrap paper, then cut it using the heart. I also used the x/o and heart die and cut it out of C9 rose gold foil paper and scattered them around the panel. I labeled the month with a Grapefruit ‘FEB’ label.

March: I used the Plaid Turnabout and stamped all four turns using Sprout, Clover, Parsley, and Evergreen inks and die cut the panel with the Petal Pushers frame die. I stamped the largest of the butterflies from the Bold Butterflies stamp set in Sea Glass, Clover and Sprout inks then die cut them with the coordinating dies. The bodies were die cut out of Evergreen and Clover cardstock. I finished the month off with a ‘MAR’ label that was white heat embossed on Sprout cardstock.

April: this month I made perfect use of the Rain or Shine Turnabout. I stamped four turns in Buttercup, Aqua Sky, Sprout and Peacock inks and die cut it with the Petal Pushers frame. I pulled out the Rain or Shine die set and die cut the umbrella out of Aqua Sky, Peacock, Dove and Mushroom cardstocks. I finished the month off with a Sprout ‘APR’ label.

May: going with the theme of April showers brings May flowers, I used the full floral Petal Pushers stencil on this month. The more closed flowers were blended with Sea Glass ink while the more open flowers were blended in Stardust, Sorbet and Ballet Slipper. The small flowers were blended with Eggplant ink and the dots and floral details in Midnight ink. I die cut this with the Petal Pushers frame die, and topped it off with a Grapefruit ‘MAY’ label.

June: what’s more June than a picnic? I used the Picnic Plaid Turnabout as the feature for this month and stamped it in Sprout, Honeysuckle, Oceanside and Peacock ink. I die cut it using the Petal Pushers frame and topped it off with a Sprout ‘JUN’ label.

I have some favorites in this set of 6 months!! But actually, they all might be my favorite. I love how December turned out, I love the playfulness of September, and I feel like each design really fits with the month.

July: I used the Popsicle Party stencil pack and only stenciled the bottom two rows. I used Sorbet, Grapefruit, Sprout, Buttercup, Marmalade, Aqua Sky, Poppy, Honeysuckle and Eggplant inks, as well as Wheat for the sticks. I die cut the stenciled panel with the Petal Pushers frame die and matted it on a 4.25 x 4.25 inch square of Aqua Sky cardstock that I used the Stitched Stripe card front die on. You could leave this step off, but I felt like the month looked too white with so much white space on the stenciled panel and the surrounding border. I finished the month off with a Sprout ‘JUL’ label.

August: to me, August is all about garden harvests, so I just had to use the Garden Grown stencil pack. I ink blended with Eggplant, Marmalade, Evergreen, Parsley, Poppy, Cranberry. Buttercup, Sprout, and Mushroom inks. I die cut the panel with the Petal Pushers frame die, then finished it off with a Grapefruit ‘AUG’ label.

September: nothing screams September to me like back to school. For this month I used the Color Me Happy die set to create a rainbow of crayons. I used C9 black cardstock for the bands on the crayons, and the rest of the color combos are as follows: Eggplant cardstock with an Eggplant ink blended wrapper, Stardust with Buttercup, Parsley with Sprout, Clover with Sea Glass, Oceanside with Aqua Sky, Peacock with Oceanside, Marmalade with Grapefruit, Cranberry with Poppy, Poppy with Sorbet, and Honeysuckle with Ballet Slipper. I had a leftover panel that I had stamped with black ink using the Sketched Stripes background stamp on, so I cut it down to 4.25 x 4 and glued the crayons on it. I love the look it gave to this scene, it makes it almost look like notebook paper. I finished this off with a Sprout ‘SEPT’ label.

October: I kept this month simpler. The other thing I love about fall are Mums, especially when they’re on porches with fall/Halloween decor. I took some inspiration from that and used the In the Meadows Turnabout stamp with Honeysuckle, Marmalade, Grapefruit, and Cranberry. I love how these colors look with this Turnabout. I used the Petal Pushers frame die to cut a panel out and finished it off with a Grapefruit ‘OCT’ label.

November: I leaned into more of that fall feeling for this month by using the full leafy background stencil from the Autumn Hues Turnabout stencil pack. When ink blending, I used two colors of the same shade to add dimension, and those pairs were: Buttercup and Stardust, Grapefruit and Sorbet, Marmalade and Poppy, and Poppy and Cranberry. To finish the month off, I pulled out some extra leaf die cuts from the Autumn Hues die set that were in my stash and glued the Grapefruit ‘NOV’ on them.

December: I love the fun feel this month has! I used the Snowfall card front die on a piece of plain white cardstock that I cut down to 4.25 x 4 inches. I stamped the ‘Let it Snow’ snow globe stamp from the Winter Wonderland stamp set in Sea Glass ink, and the letters in Clover ink and die cut it with the corresponding circle die. I die cut the base of the snow globe out of C9 matte silver cardstock. I used the snowman dies and cut the shadow out of black and the snowman out of plain white cardstock. I die cut the nose out of Marmalade, the arms out of Wheat, the scarf and pom pom out of Grapefruit, and the hat out of Poppy. I love this scene, and I can’t wait to use these products more! Lastly, I glued down a Grapefruit ‘DEC’ label.

Below are the months photographed individually, click thru the carousel to see them all! 😊

That wraps up the second Feature Friday of the month! Be sure to check out what Veronica and Seeka post, as well as the Concord & 9th blog!

I hope to catch you with some more projects soon, as well as my last Feature Friday next week. 😊
