Concord & 9th—A Barbie Inspired Card Featuring the Plane Amazing Bundle
Hello, Crafters!
If you’re looking for my Concord & 9th Guest Designing posts, I promise they’re coming soon! I’ve got a lot of editing to do on them, so stay tuned! But, today I’m happy to share this Barbie inspired card I created using the Plane Amazing bundle! I’ve actually had this card/video in my pocket for a while now (literally around the weekend the Barbie movie came out) but it got pushed aside while I worked on some design obligations. As always, products will be listed at the bottom of this post!
Not only was this card inspired by the Barbie moving coming out, but once I saw design samples with this bundle, it made me think of the Barbie airplane I played with when I was growing up. Inspiration struck, and funnily enough, when I looked up the Barbie airplane I had when I was younger, it was not the same colors as the plane I made today 😂. That plane was more inline with colors like Powder and Ballet Slipper, it’s crazy how the mind can gaslight you a little bit haha!
But anyways, once I had my colors straightened out (Carnation, Sweet Pea, Aqua Sky, and Oceanside), I decided to create a tropical scene outside my window. I love all the little dies included in this set to make a variety of scenes! Today I used the palm tree, island, clouds, sun, tiny plane and contrail. I die cut the sky out of Powder cardstock, and the water out of Aqua Sky cardstock that had Aqua Sky ink smooshed on it. After assembling my scene, I glued my blue layers down to my top folding notecard, glued my scene into the oval space, then topped it off with my pink layers.
For the sentiment, I white heat embossed ‘adventure awaits’ on some black cardstock, then cut a little banner shape into the end of it. While creating, I thought this die set would be perfect for a variety of cards such as Honeymoon cards (‘adventure awaits’ fits that well! For a fabulous honeymoon full of adventures and the joys of marriage), someone who’s moving, studying abroad, backpacking across Europe, etc., but also for someone you miss. It’s a really great, versatile bundle!
I hope you enjoyed this vibrant, Barbie-esque card! I had a lot of fun creating it, and it comes together so quickly with minimal bulk—no troubles mailing with this one! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope to catch you next time with more inspiration! 😊
