Altenew—Pleasant Pansies Thank You Card
Hello, Crafters!
Long time, no see! And I’m so sorry about that! I’ve been doing a lot of crafting behind the scenes (more posts/videos coming soon!) and it’s kept me busy! Today I’m so happy to share part one of a collaboration with Altenew with you! Altenew reached out to me and let me choose some products to play with in exchange for a couple posts. Keep in mind, I was not asked to say good things about the products I’m using (I genuinely love them though!), so all my thoughts and opinions are my own. I wanted to be clear on that off the bat! 😊 So thank you very much, Altenew, for letting me pick some fabulous products to create with! (As always, supplies will be listed at the end of this page!).
I’m so happy to be using the Pleasant Pansies 3D die set today! I really love pansies, they’re one of my favorite flowers that I love to plant in pots on our deck and in our backyard. I’ve actually had my eye on this die set for maybe a year or so now but hadn’t pulled the trigger (I’ve been trying to exercise more of a ‘no-buy’), so imagine my joy to be crafting with it haha! I tend to lean more towards to purple and blue pansies/violets, so that is what inspired me today.
I made good use of some purple cardstocks from Concord & 9th as well as the Alcohol Ink Backgrounds paper pack from Altenew. These papers have such beautiful patterns/designs to them that no matter how you use them, you will definitely create something beautiful. The paper is also pretty thick and slightly glossy.
I pulled out the Versatile Greetings die set for my ‘thanks’ sentiment on this card, and just like the pansy die set, I’m so happy to have this one too! I also had my eye on it since Jennifer McGuire mentioned it in a video maybe around New Years? It lives up to the hype! The only thing is you have to be a little careful when stacking die cuts or removing them from your cutting plate because they can be a little fragile where letters connect and bend a little easy. But to me this is not a deal breaker!
I paired this greeting with a subsentiment from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set that I white heat embossed on some black cardstock. This was another product that Jennifer McGuire had praised, and I really like it. I love the variety of sentiments in one set and I love that Altenew has two more just like it. I die cut my sentiment strip using the Featured Sentiments die set that coordinates with most of the sentiments in the stamp set. I love a good sentiment strip die, and I like that so many coordinate with the stamp set and that you get a nice rounded edge to it. Rounded edge not your thing? Simply trim it off!
I really hope you enjoyed this card today! I had a lot of fun making it (after stewing over floral placement for too long 😂) and I can’t wait to use this die set again! In my video I mentioned making a set of notecards with pansies in all different colors, and I think that would make such a wonderful gift for the holiday season! Stay tuned for part two of this collab (hint—it features more floral goodness!) coming shortly! 💜
